CPOs’ charging infrastructure in Europe - July overview

CPOs’ charging infrastructure in Europe - July overview

Europe continues to invest in electric mobility and EV charging infrastructure to try to reach the European Commission’s target of 3.5 million charging points by 2030. At the end of 2023, there were 632,423 public charging points across the EU. We see CPOs strengthening their networks, opening new charging stations, upgrading existing ones, entering into agreements with new partners or getting funding for new projects. Clean energy is a common factor in the new stations, as well as a focus on customer satisfaction, all with the aim of making charging points more profitable.

We can see several summer charging promotions to try to attract more EV drivers, but also some measures to look for the efficient use of chargers, such as the overstay fee on all High-Power Chargers (HPCs) introduced by Allego this month to ensure fair access and reduce waiting times.

Ultra-fast charging to reduce charging times is part of the industry-wide efforts. In this way, Nyobolt launched a new battery that charges from 10% to 80% in four minutes and 37 seconds. Meanwhile, IONITY celebrated the milestone of 4,000 high-power charging points in Europe this month.

Let’s have a look at our round-up of the latest news on CPOs charging infrastructure in Europe.
